Biography

In 2001, Katsia Prakopchyk and Jan Skryhan founded "DUO LA CORDA" - a combination of instruments that is quite rare in concert life.

"DUO LA CORDA" with a demanding program offers a special feature: A new, elegant and expressive sound, paired with virtuosity and professional presentation. Musicians prefer to interpret original works for these instruments from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras by masters such as Antonio Vivaldi, Domenico Scarlatti, Ludwig van Beethoven, Niccolo Paganini, Arnold Schoenberg and others.

"DUO LA CORDA" was awarded the "Grand Prix" at the international chamber music competition "Ghitaralia" in Poland.

"DUO LA CORDA" takes part in numerous music festivals and gives successful concerts at home and abroad (Germany, France, Italy, Japan, etc.).

"The audience almost held their breath when Katsia Prakopchyk on the mandolin and Jan Skryhan on the guitar found their way back from fast-paced arpeggio arcades in precisely synchronized two-part duo to dreamy melodies in mutual accompaniment. What the two full-blooded musicians from Belarus did with their fast-paced dynamic gameplay was world class"
